Young womens camp

I had the opportunity to go to Young Women’s camp this year—not as a leader, but to help support the leaders. Myleigh and Makayla, my daughters, went since they’re in Young Women’s, and Tyler also came along. It’s been such a wonderful experience getting to know some of the youth in our ward that I didn’t really know before, and connecting with leaders I hadn’t gotten to know very well either.

One of my favorite parts was watching how well the girls got along, despite the age differences. The older girls were so sweet and inclusive with the younger ones—it was beautiful to see that kind of kindness and unity.

Kayla was a beast on the water tube! It was her first time, but she loved it—even when she fell off multiple times. We had such a fun day at Bear Lake. I even went on the tube with Myleigh, Makayla, and Tyler since it held four people. It was a blast riding together and making memories.

Today, we did a faith walk. There were three “tempters” and two “guides” to help the girls stay on the iron rod. I knew a few of the girls would get pulled away because they’re just such sweethearts—they wanted to help the ones who were tempting them. I loved being one of the guides who helped bring them back to the iron rod, reminding them of the path back to our Heavenly Father.

Later, we had a testimony meeting. These girls shared such sweet and sincere testimonies. I pray they hold onto that faith and strength throughout their lives. It truly touched my heart.
