This summer was more low key this year with a new baby we didn't do to much and it was deathly hot this year. We went swimming a few times in our pool but the water seemed to get colder every day so we stopped going as often.
In June we had our yearly get together at Red Lobster with Tyler's siblings (Char and Nate you need to move back so you can join us). We get Red Lobster gift cards every year from Jay for Christmas, so we all use them together then after words we went to Jerica's house and played board games. I always look forward to it every year.
Myleigh also got blessed by her daddy, which was his first baby blessing and he did amazing.
We also went to the zoo with the Hope kids and it was awesome because
they closed it from the public so we were able to get through
everything. We saw the new Rocky Shores they built this year which was
pretty neat. The kids had so much fun.
In July we started out going to the Riverton parade which the kids love because they throw candy like no other, they came home like they just went Trick or Treating. This year we sat at one of Jerica's friends house and had a BBQ and watched the parade. Then the next day we went and watched the Riverton Fire works at the Park with Jerica and Neal, Jennifar and her kids and Melissa.
The next day Jennifar and her kids, Melissa and my kids and I went to a Unrodeo which is where the audience becomes part of the rodeo if you wanted to volunteer. Besides the rain storm that soaked us it was fun. Melissa and Jennifar and among other girls there did one of the events which was diving for money in a hay stack . They said it was fun. I think they each got $2 lol.
If you don't no I like coupons and Melissa thinks I'm crazy when it comes to couponing. So one day I planned and cut coupons and wanted to go to double coupon day in Utah county so I decided to drag Melissa along to show her how much fun and a rush it is to see how much savings you can really save. All through the store Melissa kept calling me the crazy coupon lady. But hey I did pretty good only spent $23 dollars for 45 items not to bad Saved $40, worth the trip I think so. ;) Melissa also had fun whether she wanted to admit it or not lol. I just had to add that in because I thought it was a fun time with Melissa even if it is cheesy!!!
I took Kenzie to a Princess party on July 11 where she got her nails done, planted magic beans where suckers grew later ;) and decorated princess cookies. She loved it and it was fun to hang out with just my girls.
Later that month We went to classic skating with Neal and Jerica and all the kids, we got Ashleigh and Jackson from the middle of July to the middle of August. So we tried to do some fun things so they weren't so bored. Here are some pics
August was a hard month but I will get into detail later. I will share some of the fun memories. Ashleigh went to Young Women's camp and had a blast while she was gone I had the chance to take the little one's to a Prince and Princess party with the Hope kids. Braxton didn't want to go so he hung out with Jerica. Kenzie got her hair done we had dinner and played in the waterfall.
One August 4th I woke up to Melissa having a hard time breathing and moaning and having seizures and non coherent. I didn't know what to do or think it was one of the most scariest thing I have seen. I am not good in emergency situations that's for sure. Tyler took the boys camping that weekend on the father and son camping trip, so he wasn't here. Luckily Neal came home that weekend. I called him and Jerica and Neal came over and Neal had to help Melissa open her mouth so she could breath while we waited for the ambulance to come get her. It was one of the longest moments of my life waiting for them to come.
They arrived and I followed the ambulance to the hospital and it took the Dr for ever to come tell me what was going on but when they did they told me she had Bacterial Meningitis and is in critical condition. And on top of that I couldn't get a hold of my mom and dad after 32 phone call attempts they finally answered and I told them they needed to come to the hospital and that Melissa was in critical condition.
I was finally able to see Melissa in the ER and it was so hard to look at her with all the tubes and wires. brought back memories when kenzie had her transplant.
To make a long story short. She was in the hospital for 5 days in her own coma and in those 5 days Melissa kept having multiple seizures even being on 3 seizure medications and caused brain damage. So my parents decided to let her go after many prayers and family discussions and talking to the Dr's.
Jessica and Mike came and took her to heaven on August 9th. ( just writing this makes me cry). I don't know why it keeps happening to our family but we must have faith in the Lord that families are forever and we will see Mike, Jessica and Melissa again some day. I don't know if this is our trial in life but man what a hard trial our family has gone through.
Her funeral was on August 22nd which every one said it was a good tribute to Melissa and it turned out well all things consider, all I remember is tears.
Life is so short on earth so be grateful everyday and tell the ones you love what they mean to you. You never know when it will be your time or your loved ones time to go but cherish every minute with them. The past years we have certainly learned life is precious and when the Lord needs you they will be done. I sure do miss and love my brother and sisters.
Here are just a few pictures of Melissa. What an amazing person, Sister, Aunt and friend.

On a happier note We finished off the summer by going to the Rubber Ducky Derby at the Lindon Aquatic center and watch rubber ducks race for prizes. Our duck didn't win but we had fun in the sun swimming with Grandma and Grandpa Lehwalder.
I'm glad you have such great memories of the summer! Thanks for sharing them! Love you tons!!
