christmas

christmas is always so fun and magical. This year we sponsered a family in our ward. The kids had so much fun wrapping presents for them. They really wanted to ding dong ditch, but the bishop wanted to keep it annoymous, so they were a little bummed about that. But it was amazing to see their faces when they got to wrap everything and give them to the relief society president.
This year we ended up have a little christmas, so we could give back to a family in need, since we got help last year.

Merry Christmas

Halloween

Halloween is always a fun time of year. You get to dress up, and go to lots of Halloween parties. This year we didn't do a family theme. Kenzie decided to be a nerd, Braxton wanted to be a gorilla, he worn the costume for one of the parties and broke out all over. So he decided to be Raphael from Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Kayla was a cat, and Myleigh was a cute devil.
We went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood with friends.

Braxton at boy scout camp

This was Braxton's first year being in scouts and going to scout camp. It was a 2-day, day camp. He seemed to have had a good time. Every time I picked him up he was covered in dirt ha-ha. Some fun things he said he did was jousting, B.B guns, Sling shot, and they got pushed in a Go Cart. They had some good Counselors that made it memorable for the boys.
He is excited to go next year and see what they have planned for them.

A house

This day has been a long time coming. We've lived in an apartment for 9 1/2 years. It was bitter sweet. I loved living in the apartments, more so for the community environment.we moved in with Tyler's dad for about 4 months. After looking for a few months, many offers and acceptance on a few. We found a house in Kearns that we put an offer on and they took our offer, a few days before we had to put Ernest money down, I got a text from a lady in the ward that offered to sell her house to us. It was a little out of our price range, and not exactly the style of house I've always wanted but It felt right. Considering I was crying for a few days about the Kearns house, it just didn't feel right.
We got approved for it and closed at the end of August, and we moved in over Labor day weekend.

Makayla at 3

I can't believe that my little peanut is 3. It has been such an amazing 3 years watching her grow and learn. She is such a little sweetie, she is such a daddies girl who loves to go on dates with him. Since we are living with Grandpa Madsen we didn't do a party, but she really loves Minnie Mouse so I made her a little Minnie Mouse cake.

First day of school 2016-2017

Summer went by way to fast. This year I decided to home school again. I'm not sure what I am thinking, but it seems to be working. :) We decided to stay with Davinci Academy distant learning program (home school group) again this year. The kids loved having that interaction with other home schoolers on Mondays where they do hands on learning. Plus this year the school decided to do a specials day on Tuesdays where they can pick activities they want to learn. Braxton is doing karate, guitar, Lego Robotics, yoga, and Spanish. Kenzie decided to do Dance, cooking, yoga, and Spanish. They're so excited to be able to do specials this year.
Kenzie is doing 5th grade work besides math because she is struggling with that subject. Braxton is in 3rd grade and seems to be on grade level with everything. He is struggle a little on reading, but doing a lot better then last year. This year Myleigh is doing preschool this year. I decided to put her in the upstart program. Which is an online preschool, she is pretty excited for it, also we will do "preschool story time" at the library every Monday, when the older kids are in "school".
Here is to a fun filled learning adventure for us all.

Summer 2016

Summer was a blast, We stayed at Grandpa Madsen's while we find a house, so I tried to do some fun things at least twice a week. We did a lot of play dates, went swimming with our friends at their pools, went to cowabunga bay, even splash pads. We saw symphonies at Thanksgiving point and went to Deer valley and saw the 1612 overture symphony, both amazing. We got a season pass to Hogle Zoo which was fun. Every time we went to the hospital for Kenzie's check ups we would stop and make it a day. Summer could last forever.

Last day of school

The school year is over and what a school year it was. Some what stressful, due to the fact that Makenzie hated math and constantly screamed about doing it everyday. Next year we are trying something totally different for math, Other then that she did pretty well.
Braxton did well in math but had a hard time with reading so I was constantly battling him with that. Here is to a fun less stressful summer!!

9 years post transplant

It has been 9 years of a roller coaster adventure. Open heart surgery, heart transplant, multiple caths, 2 pace makers, a gtube, Cardiac arrest, multiple hospital stays, and 10 life saving daily medications. I can't lie it is tough but I wouldn't change my baby girl for the world. She is my hero, and the light of our family. She shows us what courage, strength and faith is.
We are so grateful for her donor, and the family for the chose they made in such a very difficult decision. They will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Every year we celebrate her donor angel by making a heart cake and sending red balloons up to heaven to honor him or her.
We love you Makenzie and cant wait to see what the future holds for you!

Weaning Kayla

It is time to wean Kayla off of nursing, she isn't sleeping thru the night, my nipples hurt, and I'm just plain tired. It was a hard decision, because it is a possibility that she will be my last. I love nursing, that one on one with you and your baby is priceless, knowing that you are giving them the nutrients that they need to survive. The Joys of watching them come up with that cute little half smile and milk dribbling down their cheek. Nursing is the one of the Joys of having a baby and it is going in the books for miss Kayla! Love you miss Kayla Wayla!
