Princess Day

Saturday I had a special day planned for the girls. It was a surprise so they were very anxious to know what I had planned. Kenzie got dressed up as a princess in her Cinderella dress.
We headed out to the Paul Mitchell school were they do A princess for a day. I think I was more excited then the girls, when we got there the girls were able to pick out a Tiara and a wand and then they were sent to go get there hair done. Ashleigh was excited but Kenzie was unsure what was happening she was pretty freak out actually. But once she calmed down she really enjoyed getting her hair done. Next they did her makeup and then her nails.
Kenzie was all done before they even got Ashleigh's hair finished. But then they started doing Ashleigh's makeup and nails while they finished up her hair. She looked like she was really enjoying it.
After they were all done they got to make a frame, to put there picture on it and enjoy cookies and drinks while watching a Disney movie if they wanted. We watched the movie while we were making the frame.
It was a perfect day for the perfect princesses in my life.

The Road to Potty Training

It's been quite an adventure to potty training there is defiantly a difference in boys and girls when it comes to a lot of things especially Potty Training. Kenzie got potty trained when she was about 17 months old and she mastered it pretty quick. She did not like the feeling of being wet ya she had accidents but she mastered night time before day time potty training. But she got it down pretty fast especially for going through what she has gone through.

Braxton on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the potty at that age I tried and it was just more frustrating than anything, so I let it go I figured when he is ready he will want to go by himself.

And that is just what happened at the beginning of this week on Monday he woke up and sat on the potty and went so I put him in underwear and he did great he had 2 accidents that day but that's ok its a start. I will still keep him in diapers until he has mastered day time potty training and dry diapers at night. The next day he woke up with a wet diaper but I still put him on the toilet and he went again. So again I put underwear on him and he only had 2 accidents that day but I think he is getting the hang of it and starting to realize the feeling he gets when he needs go. He is doing really good and I am glad that I waiting until he was ready other wise it gets frustrating for me and then he resents the toilets because that is what happened when I first tried to when he was a little younger. Hopefully we can kick diapers behind us. Even though that means my babies are growing up. Which is kind of sad for me, but they will always be my babies whether they are in diapers or not.
That just means we need to have another baby. I know Kenzie and Braxton wants us to.

Library

Every week we go to the library and check out new books for bed time stories or for home school reading time. I am not a big reader but I am so glad that my kids love to read and listen to me while I read them stories it's a good bonding time and Kenzie is learning to read so it makes it more important that I continue to read to them and watch her sound out words to improve her reading skills.
We also go to there reading time at the Library once a week. The kids love it they read stories, sing songs and have a short lesson whether its on colors, shapes or the weather etc.
Last week was an exciting day at the Library for Makenzie. She got her first Library Card, she also was able to sign the back of her card all by herself and boy was she excited so Kenzie and Braxton picked out 5 books cause that was the limit on a new library card.

So I think every time we go to the library I'm sure we will use her card which is ok, she also loves to check out the books on there self scanner. I love watching them expand there minds and love the fact that they love a good book and I get the pleasure to tuck them in at night and read a book or 2 too them.

Life is good

I just want to point out that life is good, Ya we have had some bumps along the way and trials in our lives but I am so grateful for my family my husband is amazing he works 50 hours a week to support his family so I can stay home with our kids even though he dreads his job he still does it everyday so he can bring a paycheck home. There are days where he works from 6:30 in the morning to 7:30 at night. He also goes to school part time so he can better his life and his families life and show all 4 of his kids how important school and hard work is.
Ya he doesn't have a lot of free time to spend with us but every minute we get with him we enjoy hanging out and enjoying life, and I support all that he does for us even if we don't see him as much as we would like but I know he is doing it for himself and us. And by that he is a very unselfish guy to work all those hours and go to school and then do it all over again the next day. I know I couldn't do it. He is such an amazing guy that I couldn't ask for anyone better than him. I know that he is trying to do what he needs to do so he can make his families life better and support us the best way he can.
Now on to my children what an amazing adventure it has been to be a Mommy on top of all that we have had some good times and scary times but our children are amazing. Kenzie and Braxton are best friends who love each other and protect each other. They have to go everywhere together. They can turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary day just by watching them play and use there imagination they can go anywhere. I love teaching them at home and watching there minds expand into bright kids they are. I am still debating on home schooling, Kenzie is suppose to start kindergarten this year but it has been on my mind for a few years whether I should home school or not and it is coming up quicker than I thought.
By being a step mom it has its challenges but I love Ashleigh and Jackson as if they were my own flesh and blood they are amazing kids who I have had the pleasure to watch them grow and become the young lady and young man they have grown into.
Jackson is such a sweet heart he has become closer to me which I love when we got back from Colorado he gave me the biggest hug ever I loved it. He has also gotten a little closer to Kenzie which makes it much more easier when they come over.
Ashleigh is such a wonderful teen she has talked to me about girl things and teen things which I love, it shows me that she trust me and can come to me about anything if she wants. When we have them for the weekends we do girly things like wax eyebrows or paint nails which I love spending that quality time with her. I would do anything for my kids including Ash and Jackson.
I love being a mom it is the best job ever! long hours yes, never time off no, but it is priceless to watch your child grow and enjoy life. I wouldn't change my life or my children for the world I don't no how I got so lucky with an amazing husband and tremendous kids. LIFE IS GOOD
